Refund and Cancellation Policy

This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how subscriptions, reveals, and refunds work on DirtLink, operated by Earth Movers Network Inc., operating as 'DirtLink'. It supplements our Terms and Conditions and applies to all paid features of the Service.

1. Free features

Posting and claiming a development site is always free. No charges apply to listing your own material or claiming your pin. Free accounts include three (3) reveals per month at no charge.

2. Paid subscriptions

Paid subscription tiers (Pro, Powerhouse, and Enterprise) are billed monthly in advance. Subscription fees are charged on the day you subscribe and on the same day each subsequent month, unless cancelled.

Payment is processed by Stripe Payments Canada, Ltd. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method until you cancel.

3. How to cancel

You may cancel your subscription at any time:

  • From your account: visit Account Settings → Billing → Cancel Subscription.
  • By email: send your cancellation request to support@dirtlink.ca from the email address on your account.

We will confirm cancellation by email within one business day.

4. When cancellation takes effect

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You will retain access to your paid features until that date. We do not pro-rate or refund partial months.

5. Refund eligibility

Subscription fees are generally non-refundable, with the following exceptions:

  • Duplicate or erroneous charges — fully refundable. Contact support@dirtlink.ca within 30 days of the charge.
  • Service outages exceeding 24 consecutive hours during your billing cycle — eligible for a pro-rated credit on your next invoice.
  • Where required by Alberta consumer protection law — refunds will be issued in accordance with applicable statute.

Refund requests outside these categories are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and granted at our discretion.

6. Reveals

Reveals (paid views of contact information on a site listing) are non-refundable once used. Unused reveals included in your subscription do not carry over to the next billing cycle. Pay-per-use reveal purchases are non-refundable except in the case of platform error.

7. Failed payments

If a payment fails, we will:

  • Retry the charge up to three times over seven days.
  • Notify you by email after each failed attempt.
  • Suspend access to paid features after the third failed attempt.
  • Cancel your subscription if payment is not resolved within 30 days of the first failure.

Your account and listings are preserved during this period. Reactivate by updating your payment method in Account Settings.

8. Promotional credits and discounts

Promotional credits, discount codes, and trial offers have no cash value and are non-refundable. Unused promotional credits are forfeited at the end of the promotional period or upon cancellation, whichever comes first.

9. Enterprise contracts

Enterprise subscriptions governed by a separate written agreement are subject to the cancellation and refund terms in that agreement, which take precedence over this Policy where they conflict.

10. Disputed charges

If you believe a charge is incorrect:

  • Contact us first at support@dirtlink.ca. We resolve most billing disputes within five business days.
  • If we cannot resolve the matter, you may dispute the charge with your card issuer or payment provider.
  • Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may result in suspension of your account pending resolution.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or by notice on the Service at least 30 days before they take effect. Changes apply only to billing cycles that begin after the effective date.
