Cookie Notice
This Cookie Notice explains how DirtLink, operated by Earth Movers Network Inc., operating as 'DirtLink', uses cookies and similar technologies on dirtlink.ca. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences over time. We also use related technologies (local storage, session storage) for similar purposes; references in this Notice to "cookies" include those technologies.
2. Cookies we use
Essential cookies
Required for the Service to function. We use them to:
- Keep you logged in across pages.
- Maintain your session and prevent unauthorized access.
- Remember your map view, filters, and accessibility preferences.
- Protect against fraud and security threats (e.g., CSRF tokens).
You cannot turn off essential cookies without breaking core functionality of the Service.
Analytics cookies
We do not currently use analytics cookies. If we add an analytics provider in the future, we will:
- Update this Notice and our Privacy Policy.
- Add the provider to our Sub-Processor List.
- Where required by law, present a consent banner before non-essential analytics cookies are set.
- Notify existing users by email of the change.
Advertising cookies
We do not use advertising cookies. We do not run ads on DirtLink and we do not allow third-party advertising trackers on the Service.
3. How to manage cookies
Most browsers let you control cookies through settings. Common options:
- Block all cookies — will break the Service; not recommended.
- Block third-party cookies — has minimal impact on the Service.
- Delete cookies on browser close — you will be logged out at the end of each session.
Browser-specific instructions:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data.
4. Do Not Track signals
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. We currently do not respond differently to DNT signals because we do not use tracking cookies for advertising or cross-site profiling.
5. Updates
We may update this Notice from time to time. The current version is always available at dirtlink.ca/cookies. Material changes will be communicated as described in our Privacy Policy.
